Project Manager - Geology - Whitehorse

Based in our Whitehorse office and reporting to the branch Operations Manager,  the Project Manager - Geology would be responsible for:

• The design and execution of geological exploration programs for mineral exploration and geotechnical applications.
• Organizing and running prospecting, geochemical sampling, mapping, trenching and drilling programs.
• Preparation of technical reports including National Instrument 43-101 qualifying reports.
• Organization, supervision and administration of 1 to 5 field crews
• Client relations including sales, marketing and ongoing project support.

The successful candidate will require the following:

• B.Sc. in Geology
• 5 years experience including field experience organizing and conducting prospecting, geochemical sampling, mapping, trenching and drilling programs
• Registered or eligible to be registered as a Professional Geologist in NWT / Nunavut
• Possess a sound understanding of exploration geophysics and geochemistry
• Competent with Geosoft Oasis and working in a complex networked environment.
• Solid writing skills and a demonstrated ability to conduct data processing and prepare reports within fixed time lines and budgets.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and supervise field crews

This job is primarily an office position with the additional requirement for some travel to supervise field crews. The successful candidate must possess a valid Drivers Licence, Possession and Acquisition Licence (firearms) and passport.   This is a term contract position with the period of employment extending until November 2010.  Interested applicants are encouraged to apply in confidence to Dave White.
