Exploration Technicians 

AGL currently has openings for geophysical and geological survey technicians in both Yellowknife and Whitehorse. These are field positions. The successful candidates will:

  • conduct or assist with magnetic field, gravity, FDEM / TEM, IP, seismic, GPR and borehole surveys;
  • conduct or assist with geological mapping, prospecting, and drill programs;
  • be employed in general exploration work (staking / line cutting / pad building) on projects in northern Canada and Alaska.

The successful candidates will have a degree in an earth sciences related field or have sufficient related experience and skill. Additional requirements of the position include:

  • exposure to potential field methods, electromagnetics, and IP through work and/or training;
  • familiarity with geophysical computer data processing, ideally with Geosoft;
  • the receipt of a valid driver’s license;
  • basic mechanical ability would be an asset. 

Candidates are required to be physical fit, capable of sustained physical work in remote and rugged areas under challenging climatic conditions, and be prepared to travel extensively on short notice. Candidates must be proficient with computers and technology. Experience in remote camp operation is an asset - the ability to work in remote locations and small camps for up to 6 weeks is required. Basic mechanical ability would be an assest. Technicians will have the opportunity to learn new surveys and processing skills on the job and have the ability to quickly advance within the company.
